The Kansas City real estate market offers a nice mix of residential options. Offering buyers the best of city living in suburban setting, buyers can choose from bungalows, historic homes, modern subdivisions, condominiums, townhouses and undeveloped land. Prices vary accordingly, with properties available to suit first-time buyers or more established, move-up buyers. Detached, single-family homes vary in price from less than $50,000 up to $500,000. More modern, higher-end homes are available in the Northridge Pine Estates, Whispering Pine Estates and Allens Farm communities. These homes are characterized by newer construction, open floor plans and modern amenities. Several neighborhoods provide community recreation and fitness facilities for residents. For a loan larger than conventional conforming loans, or 'jumbo' loan, the 30 year rate is 4.41%, while the 15 year jumbo rate currently is at 4.12%.
